Konsolidasi BUMN, BRI Akuisisi Saham Pegadaian?
Menteri BUMN Dahlan Iskan mengiyaratkan PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BRI) mengakuisisi saham PT Pegadaian (persero). Dahlan mengakui untuk merelisasikan wacana tersebut, butuh waktu karena harus melalui serangkaian kajian dan persiapan. “Ini bukan bagian dari peta jalan (perbankan BUMN). Tetapi ada pemikiran ke arah itu. Kapan waktunya… belum tahu,” tutur Menteri akrab disebut Raja Media ini.
Menurut catatan, periode akhir 2013 total aset Bank BRI mencapai sebesar Rp569,15 triliun, sementara Pegadaian pada saat yang sama membukukan total aset sekitar Rp33,4 triliun. Sebelumnya mantan direktur utama PT PLN ini sempat mewacanakan aksi korporasi yang hampir serupa antara PT. Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) dan PT. Bank Mandiri. Dalam skenario tersebut, Mandiri akan mengambialih 60,14% saham BTN diarahkan akan diakuisisi Mandiri untuk meningkatkan kemampuan BTN dalam memenuhi kebutuhan perumahan masyarakat, selain juga menjadikan Mandiri bank terbesar mengalahkan Malaysia.
Namun rencana itu kandas di tengah jalan karena Presiden Susilo Yudhoyono, melalui Sekretaris Kabinet, Dipo Alam, meminta rencana akuisisi tersebut tidak dilanjutkan, karena dinilai tidak tepat karena berpotensi menimbulkan dampak luas menjelang Pemilu Presiden dan akhir masa kerja Kabinet Indonesia Bersatu II.
